This trike can be build using the tunnel/torsion/transaxle from several VW type vehicles.

The VW-Brazil  "Re-Started" making the air-cooled bug in Brazil and Mexico in 1980 after Germany discontinued the air-cooled engine powered VW's (in 1979) until 2001 when the last ones rolled off the assembly line. They had to "Form" a "few" of the body panels and used ONLY swing-axle transaxles the whole time. That shock tower is a "boxed-in" version because they didn't have the mold for the "solid" tower that Germany used (destroyed in '67)  In Brazil, the beetle is called "Fusca".

The following illustrations will be an example of the tunnel construction.

Example of 1/2 steel plate placement (These are not the measurements to the trike we are constructing)

Next would come the neck and the front end.  More about this later.

There are many different styles you can make from this design.  Some have the "cages" at the rear and some do not.  It's up to you what you like.  You can make your frame as shown above or just use tubing to form the front of the trike.  We will be showing the above method.  A couple of tricicles are shown below without the "cage"
